Position
Lead Radiotherapist Planning
Introduction
A vacancy exists for a Lead Radiotherapist (Planning) based at the Life Hilton Private HospitalsRadiotherapy Unit and will be reporting to the Unit Manager Radiation Unit Jeunesse Smith. The successful candidate will be responsible for rendering a quality radiotherapy service which is effective and efficient.
Critical Outputs
- Deliver a high-quality radiotherapy service that complies with required quality assurance standards.
- Establish and maintain a quality assurance program ensuring that prescribed standards are met at all times.
- Ensure that all equipment and machines related to the scope are maintained to the relevant standards.
- Management of day-to-day administration e.g. maintaining files record keeping stock and asset control.
- Radiation planning including stereotactic planning VMAT IMRT and 3D planning techniques.
- Treatment coding
- Staff planning and control.
- Oncologist treatment liaison.
- Medical physicist liaison.
- Ensuring the total satisfaction of our clients through continuous improvement and added value.
- Safely and effectively operate treatment and planning equipment.
- Contribute and assume responsibility of the holistic care of patients according to the scope of practice.
- Execute all procedures according to the radiation policies and procedures.
- Maintain accurate and detailed chart documentation and perform safety checks.
- Ensuring compliance with ISO 9001:2008 including Life Healthcare internal and external audits when necessary
- 3 Year National Diploma in Radiotherapy/ BTech Radiotherapy/ BSC Radiotherapy
- Registration with HPCSA in the field of Radiation Therapy.
- Minimum 3 - 5 years working experience in radiotherapy.
- A candidate who is a team player results-orientated hard-working with good communication skills and customer orientated
- Effective leadership skills
- 3D VMAT and SRS/SBRT planning experience is essential to this role
