DAILY DESK 2ND SHIFT
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Person in this position will pick and pack orders for daily shipment to customer. They will display the ability to work closely with others and as a team. Responsibilities listed below cover some of the significant duties performed but do not exclude other occasional work assignments not mentioned.
- Obtain pick tickets from the daily desk and or Shipping Clerk prioritizes them based on ship date and carrier
- Pulls and Pack bulk material for Regional Distribution Centers
- Coordinates daily shipments with customer services
- Pulls and assembles hardware trough and wire products according to customers order.
- Packages material into boxes and onto skids.
- Scans all material with a scan gun to verify accuracy and completeness
- Affixes appropriate labels and packing lists.
- Prepares appropriate shipping documents
- Operates a stretch wrap machine to secure boxes and reels to a skid
- Operates a forklift to load customer orders onto outgoing trucks.
- Logs all shipped orders into computer system.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Good physical condition as you will be walking and standing the majority of the day.
- Ability to lift up to 75 pounds.
- Above average forklift driving skills (may be taught).
- Attention to detail required in correct item and quantity.
- Material identification is extremely critical to detect quality issues.
- Basic computer skills required to operate scan gun and shipping programs on computer.
- Basic math skills required to count items.
- Initiative needed to drive your own performance. Direct supervision is always available but is not over your shoulder.
