Job Summary:

The Enterprise Data teams mission is to unify data across the enterprise tooptimizebusinessdecisions made at the strategic tactical and operational levels of the organization. Weaccomplish this by building a data foundation utilizing Palantir FoundryAIPand Ontology that powers analytics and reporting platforms andbusiness processes that provide quality data ina timelyfashion from any channel of thecompany and present them in such a manner as to maximize the value of that data for bothinternal and external customers.

The SeniorSoftware EngineerData Engineeris responsible forbuilding technology and pipelines to rapidlymodeldifferent and varyingdata sourcesintoreusabledatamodelsthat can be consumed bya wide variety ofcustomersincluding operational applications as well as analytics & metrics. Responsibilitiesincludehands-on contributions in ateam environment critical thinking and developing technical solutions with business stakeholders and changing requirements and mentoring engineers to ensurehigh qualitydevelopmentand best practices aremaintainedthroughout the delivery cycles.

Our Data platform is transitioning to Palantir from a Google and Microsoft hybrid cloud tech stack. Our data storage layer includesBigQuery Databricks Azure and Postgres. Across our broader techstack wecode primarily in Python Scala and JavaScript and make use of many frameworks including Dataflow Apache Airflow Apache Sparkdbt Delta Lake Apache Iceberg.

Responsibilities

• Leverage existing patternsand create new ones as neededto rapidly onboard new datasets into the data platform.

• Understand business use cases and datacontextto design complete highquality data models supporting both operational and analytical needs.

• Apply deep technicalexpertiseand critical thinking to translate business requirements into scalable adaptablesystemand data solutions.

• Take ownership of deliverables while collaborating and mentoring team members including conducting andparticipatingin design and code reviews.

• Communicate effectively with business stakeholders to clarify requirements and business context;operateas a forwarddeployed engineer embedded with partner teams.

Requirements

• 8 years of experience in data engineering data warehousing data lakes or software engineering with a data focus.

• Strong data modeling skills and the ability to work directly with business stakeholders to understand data needs.

• Proficiencyin Python Java SQL and Scala.

• Strong knowledge of Data Lake and Delta Lake concepts.

• Understanding ofdata security and data governance best practices.

• Handson experience with DatabricksBigQuery or Palantir for building enterprise data platforms; experience with endtoend data pipelines or ontology development in Palantir is a plus.

• Familiarity with orchestration tools such as AirflowDagster orFivetran.

• Well versed in common data frameworks such as Spark & Polars

• Experience working in cloud environments (GCP or Azure preferred).

• Familiarity with DevOps processes and AIassisted coding is a plus.

• Experience building and documenting best practices for software testing data testing and system documentation.

• Experience working with APIs.
• Bachelors degree in Computer Scienceor a related field or equivalent experience withdemonstratedcommitment to continued learning and growth.

• Undergraduate degree in computer science or related discipline preferred or equivalent experience along with a demonstrated desire for continuing education and improvement
