Rate of Pay: 119.00 - 161.11 per day
Summary:
The Information Access Officer will support the Council in meeting its statutory obligations under the UK GDPR Data Protection Act 2018 and Freedom of Information Act 2000. The role will primarily focus on reviewing and redacting documents for Subject Access Requests (SARs) assisting with the processing of FOI and EIR requests and providing administrative support to the Information Governance (IG) team.
Responsibilities:
- Review and redact documents containing personal data for Subject Access Request (SAR) responses ensuring accuracy and consistency.
- Assist with the logging coordination and timely processing of Subject Access Requests (SARs) Freedom of Information (FOI) and Environmental Information Regulation (EIR) requests.
- Prepare draft responses using standard templates and established processes.
- Identify and escalate complex cases risks or potential exemptions to senior Information Governance staff.
- Maintain accurate records audit trails and updates within case-management systems.
- Provide general administrative support to the Information Governance team including inbox management filing and data handling tasks.
Essentials:
- Relevant experience working within Information Governance Data Protection or a similar compliance-focused role.
- Knowledge of UK data protection legislation and information rights frameworks.
- Minimum 3 years experience handling personal data document redaction or casework in a regulated environment.
- Understanding of UK GDPR Data Protection Act 2018 and FOI principles.
- High attention to detail with the ability to review large volumes of documents accurately.
