Full-Time Temporary JrSr High Science Teacher

The Peace River School Division is seeking applications for aFull-Time (1.00 f.t.e.) Temporary Jr/Sr Science Teacher atFairview High School.This position will commence on August 27 2026 and continue until June 29 2027.

The initial assignment will include Science gr. 8 & 9 and Physics 20 & 30. Additional teaching assignments will be determined by the principal in accordance with the schools programming needs.

Fairview High School offers complete programming for grades seven though twelve. Our schools programming covers both academic and non academic courses coupled with a large variety of electives. Junior high students are offered Industrial Arts Home Economics and French as well as Art and Computer programs. Fairview High School is fortunate to have partnered with Northwestern Polytechnic (NWP) - Fairview campus to offer the senior high students the opportunity to use the new fitness center in Phys. Qualifications:

• Experience and/or training in teaching junior high level grades.
• Excellent communications skills with students staff and parents.
• Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and educational assistants to ensure student success.
• Proven ability to differentiate lessons to support students achievement.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• A keen understanding of assessment practices.
• The ability to use technology to support learning in the classroom .

Requirements:

• Must hold or be eligible for a validAlberta Teaching Certificate.
• Provide a current Vulnerable Sector Check dated within six (6) months of your application.

This teaching position falls under the Collective Agreement between the Alberta Teachers Association and the Peace River School Division.

Annual Salary Range: $ 66520 to $ 112451 (dependent on experience and education in accordance with the collective agreement between the Alberta Teachers Association and the Peace River School Division).
