Are you ready to lead with purpose and shape the future of Asset Operations for Australia East Were looking for a strategic and people-focused leader to join our team as General Manager of Assets Australia East. This is a critical role forming part of the Australia East Leadership Team with a direct impact on our operational performance and growth.
The Opportunity
As the General Manager of Assets Australia East you will:
- Provide strong values-based leadership to our regional Asset teams across QLD and NSW.
- Build and sustain Asset Management capabilities that support business growth and operational excellence.
- Implement development and capability strategies to improve teamperformance andeffectiveness and promotes succession planning.
- Champion a culture of safety innovation and continuous improvement.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders to drive performance and outcomes.
- Lead with a forward-thinking mindset developing talent pipelines and empowering teams.
What youll do:
- Demonstrate strong leadership and influence in driving companyresults through active support of sites.
- Supportregional asset managersto ensure all sites are appropriately resourced from a personnel perspective from a capability and capacity perspective.
- Identify and align change strategies with the business vision andobjectives and leads the team through business change
- Apply broad business commercial and industry knowledge to support decisions and resourceallocations
- Ensure all contracted spend is effectively managed with vendors and customers
- Ensure that maintenance objectives and activities are aligned with business objectives and KPIs. Address shortcomings with maintenance management teams for our sites
Who You Are:
You are a proven leader from a maintenance background with either a Mechanical/Electrical Trade Certificate or a relevant Tertiary Qualification. With over 15 years of experience in Asset Management within the mining industry you bring deep technical knowledge of mobile mining assets and a strong understanding of asset lifecycle management. Your expertise is grounded in practical experience and strategic thinking allowing you to lead with confidence and deliver measurable results.
Youve successfully led high-performing teams at a senior level and are known for your strong commercial acumen and ability to align asset strategies with broader business goals. Your communication and stakeholder engagement skills are a standout enabling you to collaborate effectively across internal teams and external partners. Youre ready to influence innovate and help shape the future of asset operations at Thiess.
