Job Summary

Critical Senior SAN/NAS Storage Engineer Bowie MD

TS/SCI with FULL SCOPE POLYGRAPH REQUIRED

Description & Qualifications:

Hands-on engineering experience with NetApp and other storage technologies and concepts (Storage Area Network - SAN & Network Attached Storage - NAS)
Must have knowledge and understanding of protocols such as S3 CIFS NFS iSCI and Fiber Channel Block Storage (SAN)
Experience with capacity planning and sizing storage and backup environments (to include Veritas NetBackup Cohesity Rubrik & CommVault
Experience in performance tuning and optimizing storage and backup environments
Experience with data center migrations and storage replication technologies
Senior-level experience with the design development implementation and maintenance of large-scale systems preferably across multiple hardware platforms and data centers
Strong understanding of high availability concepts with practical experience and implementation of key components in storage environments
Strong understanding of fundamental hardware concepts: disk memory CPU NIC HBA firmware RAID performance concepts (I/O paging swapping system calls) iSCSI Fiber Channel Ethernet
Strong understanding of essential TCP/IP concepts: TCP UDP ICMP SMTP SNMP LDAP DNS NTP etc.
Experience connecting storage arrays to Hypervisor Technologies (NUTANIX VMWARE VCF OpenStack)
Understanding of security best practices and federal hardening requirements (FISMA STIG etc.)
CompTIA Security or similar certification for IAT Level II DoD 8570 compliance
Proficient in written and oral communication skills
Strong collaborative attitude and ability to work in a team environment

Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree

Salary Range: $150000 - $250000 annually commensurate with skill set experience security clearance level and educational qualifications.
