Responsibilities
King George V School is looking to recruit an enthusiastic teacher to join our highly successful and supportive English and Drama departments. The position will be a full-time temporary role to cover a maternity leave period from August 2026 to December 2026. The role would be approximately 3:2 English: Drama.
The school follows the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) in years 7 to 9 iGCSE courses in years 10 and 11 and BTEC and IB Diploma in years 12 and 13. Departments have dedicated collaboration time and the successful candidate would be expected to be an active member of both teams.
The successful applicant will be expected to teach Drama and English across age ranges and experience teaching MYP BTEC L2 IB and or BTEC Diploma classes is desirable. IB Diploma English experience would also be favourable but not essential.
The successful candidate will contribute to the planning implementation and ongoing evaluation of the taught Drama and English curriculum. The role will include collaborative practices to support planning lessons assessing and giving timely feedback to ensure effective progress by all students. A willingness to contribute to the extra-curricular life of the school is essential along with pastoral responsibilities including supervision and duties.
