Job title: SolarWinds Monitoring Engineer / NOC Tool Developer (Individual Contributor Role 7x24 NOC Support Environment)
Location: Newark NJ

Role Overview:
Support the 24/7 Network Operations Center (NOC) by developing maintaining and enhancing monitoring tools in SolarWinds (NPM NTA NCM IPAM) to ensure proactive monitoring alerting and visibility of network WiFi compute and application infrastructure. Focus on customization integration automation and best-practice recommendations to minimize downtime and support rapid issue resolution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Recommend design implement and integrate monitoring & alerting solutions in SolarWinds with strong ServiceNow integration (events incidents workflows).
• Create modify and maintain customized dashboards and reports using Power BI and SolarWinds SQL tables.
• Gather requirements design build and validate enterprise monitoring systems for infrastructure/applications.
• Perform network/server discovery device monitoring topology visualization and assist in root cause analysis (RCA).
• Analyze tools/designs against industry best practices; troubleshoot complex issues and make enhancements.
• Automate repeatable tasks (alerts event handling report scheduling).
• Collaborate with Network Windows Cyber Security and ops teams for holistic monitoring.
• Maintain runbooks logs and records per ITIL best practices in ServiceNow.
• Monitor system health SLA targets and proactively suggest improvements/tools.
• Handle special projects as assigned.

Required Skills & Experience:

• 5 years hands-on with enterprise monitoring/observability platforms (implementation customization support).
• SME-level expertise in SolarWinds (required): NPM NTA NCM IPAM; platform architecture alerting reporting performance optimization.
• Strong experience integrating SolarWinds with ServiceNow (event/incident/workflow).
• Hands-on with Syslog and SNMP v2/v3 (traps configuration troubleshooting).
• Proven automation of monitoring tasks (alert/event automation report generation/scheduling).
• Configuring/managing: monitoring profiles polling policies thresholds alert conditions.
• Ability to diagnose/resolve complex issues across network infra and application monitoring.
• Platform admin experience in large-scale enterprise environments (stability scalability performance).
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
