Associate Scientist II, Process Development

We are seeking a Associate Scientist to perform mRNA production and mRNA process development. The candidate will do in vitro transcribed (IVT) mRNA production mRNA purification and perform analytical characterization under appropriate supervision.

Responsibilities & Duties:

• Perform production and purification of in vitro transcribed (IVT) mRNA
• Troubleshoot experiments and instrumentation especially chromatographic purification and TFF filtration
• Quality control analysis of mRNA products including gel electrophoresis Dot blot UV etc.
• Develop new techniques for mRNA process development at small and large-scale production of mRNA
• Demonstrate skill in multiple techniques and appropriately modify protocols as required to suit the changing needs of research or development sciences.
• Maintain appropriate lab notebooks and electronic records
• Understand and adhere to corporate standards regarding code of conduct safety and appropriate handling of materials and drug substances

Qualifications :

• Bachelors Degree or equivalent education with typically 3 or more years experience or Masters Degree or equivalent education (no additional experience).
• Basic understanding and hands-on experience with AKTA systems and Unicorn software and TFF techniques are preferred
• Detail oriented with strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently within prescribed guidelines and as a team member.
• Ability to draft routine reports and keep accurate records of work performed.
• Able to learn complex tasks with general instructions.
• Able to use experience to perform a variety of new techniques.
• Demonstrated ability to follow detailed directions in a research laboratory environment.
