Job Summary
Position Summary & Objective
The Helper job responsibilities will include grinding complex radii such as runner fillets upgrading surfaces to a specified surface finish and general deburring. Helper may be required to assist fabricators and welders in making setups and in any general labor as needed. Job will require masking of parts in preparation for blasting and paint.
Essential Functions Performed by the Position
- Operate main crane jib crane and forklifts to move and position components for optimum grinding performance
- Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly
- Keep Supervisor informed of problems regarding assigned task schedule safety etc. as conditions arise
- Perform final upgrade grinding on runner to crown/ band weld radii
- Perform final upgrade grinding wicket gate final blending
- Pursues training and development opportunities; strives to continuously build knowledge and skills
- Observes safety and security procedures
- Reports potentially unsafe conditions
- Uses equipment and materials properly
- Adapts to changes in the work environment such as delays or unexpected events
- Follows instructions responds to management direction; takes responsibility for own actions; keeps commitments.
- Completes tasks on time or notifies appropriate person with an alternate plan

Environment and Working Conditions
- Consistent exposure to loud noises
- Regularly required to work near fumes or airborne particles; and vibration

- Risk of electrical shock
- Occasionally required to lift/ move up to 50 pounds
Qualifications :
Required Education and Experience
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/ or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
