About the Role

The successful candidate will deliver engaging and practical Design & Technology lessons across Key Stages 3 and 4 with the opportunity to teach Key Stage 5 depending on experience and subject specialism. The school is looking for a teacher who can inspire students to develop creativity technical skills and problem-solving abilities through hands-on learning.

Key responsibilities include:

• Planning and delivering engaging Design & Technology lessons that promote creativity innovation and practical skills.

• Teaching across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 supporting students as they develop design manufacturing and evaluation skills.

• Preparing students for GCSE assessments and coursework requirements.

• Supporting students in the safe use of tools machinery and workshop equipment.

• Assessing and monitoring student progress and providing constructive feedback.

• Creating a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and independent thinking.

• Contributing to curriculum development within the technology department.

• Supporting extracurricular activities such as STEM clubs design competitions or practical workshops.

• Ensuring compliance with Health & Safety procedures within practical learning environments.

Candidate Requirements

Key requirements include:

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or an equivalent recognised teaching qualification.

• Strong subject knowledge within Design & Technology.
