A high-achieving and academically focused sixth form in Birmingham is seeking an experienced and dedicated SENCO to lead and further develop its SEND provision from September.
This is an exciting opportunity to play a key leadership role in a sixth form environment where students are preparing for higher education and future careers and where inclusive support is central to student success.
The Role
As SENCO you will oversee the strategic development and day-to-day management of SEND provision across the sixth form. You will ensure that students with additional needs receive the appropriate support to thrive academically and personally.
Key responsibilities include:
Leading the SEND strategy across the sixth form
Coordinating EHCPs and individual support plans
Monitoring student progress and implementing targeted interventions
Supporting teachers in delivering inclusive teaching strategies
Liaising with parents external agencies and senior leadership
Ensuring compliance with SEND legislation and safeguarding procedures
You will play a key role in ensuring students are supported to achieve their full academic potential during their post-16 studies.

The Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher with QTS (or equivalent)
National Award for SEN Coordination (or willingness to complete)
Strong understanding of SEND legislation and inclusive practice
Experience supporting students in a secondary or post-16 setting
Excellent organisational and communication skills
