The Opportunity
Our client is seeking an experienced Construction Manager to lead civil construction efforts across its surface infrastructure portfolio. This is a high-impact role responsible for driving execution across well pads compressor stations access roads facility expansions and slip remediation projects.
The Construction Manager will play a critical leadership role in ensuring projects are delivered safely on schedule within budget and in full compliance with regulatory requirements. This individual will serve as the key liaison between internal departments including Surface Operations Regulatory Asset Development and Drilling & Completions and external construction partners.
This position blends strategic planning with active field leadership and is ideal for a hands-on construction professional who thrives in a fast-paced E&P environment.
Location & Work Structure
This is a hybrid position based out of Morgantown WV. The role will require:
- Office-based planning budgeting contractor coordination and internal meetings
- Significant field presence during active construction phases
- Regular travel to project sites throughout Ohio and Pennsylvania
Key Responsibilities
The Construction Manager will be responsible for:
- Overseeing daily civil construction activities to ensure alignment with engineered designs company standards and permit conditions
- Directly supervising field foremen and third-party contractors while reinforcing a strong safety-first culture
- Managing the pre-construction process including bid package development contractor walkdowns pre-bid meetings and award evaluations
- Reviewing construction drawings for constructability and proactively identifying potential design or execution challenges
- Conducting site inspections and resolving field issues related to scope schedule or quality
- Coordinating closely with Asset Development on material procurement and annual CAPEX planning
- Aligning construction schedules with Operations and D&C teams to avoid production or maintenance conflicts
- Partnering with HSE to ensure environmental compliance and adherence to safety standards
- Leading punch-list execution documentation review and formal turnover of completed assets to Operations
Qualifications & Experience
The ideal candidate will bring:
- Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline (equivalent industry experience will be considered)
- 10 years of progressive civil construction experience within the oil and gas industry
- Demonstrated success managing field crews and third-party contractors
- Strong knowledge of oil and gas surface infrastructure development
- Expertise in interpreting construction drawings technical specifications and site plans
- Working knowledge of construction safety standards and environmental regulations
- Strong communication skills with the ability to effectively interact with field personnel regulatory stakeholders and executive leadership
- Exceptional organizational and problem-solving abilities in dynamic project environments
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to work in both office and field environments
- Capability to perform physical activities including standing walking crouching kneeling reaching and lifting up to 20 pounds occasionally
- Comfort working outdoors in varying weather conditions and rugged terrain
- Proficiency operating standard office and computer equipment
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
