Job Summary
Applications are invited for appointment as Lecturer in the Master of Arts in the field of Translation (MAT) programme in the School of Chinese (Ref.: 534540) to commence on September 1 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter on a two-year fixed-term basis with the possibility of renewal subject to funding availability and satisfactory performance.
Applicants should possess a Ph.D. degree in Translation Studies or a related field and at least three years post-qualification teaching experience at the tertiary should have a proven track record of excellence in teaching Chinese-English translation and/or interpreting courses. Preference will be given to those with expertise in computer-assisted and AI-enhanced translation technologies.
The appointee will be responsible for teaching MAT and undergraduate courses supervising final projects/dissertations conducting tutorials and workshops supporting curriculum design and assisting with the administrative work of the programme and other related duties as assigned. A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary.
