PROCESS ENGINEER

DISTRIBUTION CENTER - SANFORD

Our Logistics Process Engineers are responsible for driving distribution losses to zero and delivering breakthrough results. The Process Engineer will lead continuous improvement activities through detailed data analysis and root cause problem solving tools to achieve business objectives. Dealing with a multitude of current and future products Logistics Process Engineers have the technical curiosity and knowledge to develop new approaches to big problems. Your work will require creativity innovation teamwork and leadership.

Key Success Measures

• Ensuring high quality products are shipped to our customers per the design specifications.
• Achieving operating efficiency of the distribution center measured by units shipped on time and labor cost.
• Scrap Reduction targets are achieved.
• Ensure project start-ups and new equipment installation achieve aligned start-up curves and KPIs on time.

Core responsibilities:

• Lead Continuous Improvement Activities including Focused Improvement Events Kaizens 5S activities & Stop the Stops Events.
• Serve as Delivery Leader for engineering led projects in the distribution center ensuring successful start-up of new equipment.
• Conduct time and motion studies to optimize workflows and resource allocation.
• Responsible for Data Integrity and reporting of KPIs for the distribution center.
• Development of Problem Solving and Root Cause Analysis Mastery including use of Fishbone and Why-Why tools.
• Support troubleshooting and root cause analysis for WMS-related issues and WMS data reporting.
• Other duties as assigned.

Leading the team:

• Process Engineers will be members of the operational excellence leadership teams they work in. They will be instrumental in the development of the annual masterplan and operating budgets of the distribution center.
• Serve as small group leaders during Focused Improvement Events.
• Process Engineers are responsible for training operators and mechanics on new machinery and systems that are delivered to the distribution center.

Continuous improvement

• Development implementation and monitoring of Standard Operating Procedures to ensure consistency and reliability in logistics processes.
• Lead implementation of the Autonomous Maintenance Daily Management Systems in the distribution center (CILs / Defect Handling / Centerlining)

Project management

• Serve as the distribution center Delivery Leader in projects for process innovation capacity expansion and cost optimization.
• Lead Commissioning Qualification and Verification of new equipment initiatives and components in the distribution center.

Wed love to see candidates who have:

• B.S. Degree in an Engineering Discipline
• 0 to 3 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing/logistics environment.
• Familiarity with SQL or other database-oriented programming languages.
• Background in root cause problem solving Lean Manufacturing practices and continuous improvement.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Ability to lead and manage multiple projects at one time.
• Able to work with a diverse team of individuals.
