Description

A one-year postdoc position in the field of sustainable PFAS treatment is available at DTU Sustain within the project funded by Innoexplorer program (Innovationsfonden) with an expected start date of June 01 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.

Responsibilities and qualifications
Your overall focus will be to strengthen the departments expertise in sustainable water treatment with a focus on PFAS collection and destruction. You will conduct research on a new green photochemical PFAS degradation process investigating the mechanisms behind radical formation and interfacial reactions with PFAS leading to their destruction. You will disseminate results in publications and conferences explore market opportunities and partnerships and validate the scale-up of the process. There is also potential for you to become a founder of a spin-out company based on this technology so experience in entrepreneurship or business development is considered a plus.

As a formal qualification you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent) in environmental engineering chemistry or related fields with experience in water treatment photochemistry or process development.

The ideal candidate is independent collaborative a strong communicator in English and motivated to translate research into innovative scalable solutions.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

The period of employment is12 months. The expected start date is 1June 2026 or as soon as possible thereafter.
