The Facilitators role is to engage and support young people through a process of positive change over time with the goal of increasing academic engagement preventing school drop-out and fostering long-term success. The Facilitator builds trusting relationships with youth designs individualized support plans and coordinates wrap-around services that include mentorship life skills development and mental health supports.
The YESP Facilitators will work collaboratively towards the following key outcomes:
Academic Achievement: Enable Youth to engage and succeed in their academic studies and transition smoothly to post- secondary education.
Social and Emotional Well-being: Improve leaners wellbeing sense of belonging and academic motivations
Educational Attainment: Improve youths educational aspirations and resiliency through workshops and individualized support.

- Provide support to youth ages 16-24 who are exploring educational attainment after high school by providing (educational workshops individual assistance financial aid food/hygiene resources and mentoring)
- Regular communication with school youth and youths parents throughout the youths participation in the program encouraging their involvement in academic and personal life.
- Transform youths educational experience using self-discovery tools and delivering highly interactive workshops that will cater to unique needs and inspire change.
- Work with resources to reduce barriers for youth to continue on with educational attainment
- Engages with schools community agencies and other organizations to maximize services and resources to participants
- Inputs data accurately and timely into program designated database systems
- Monitor and ensure participants are moving forward in their goals through follow-ups
- Coordinate and support referrals to community resources for participants
- Ensures a safe comfortable and welcoming environment for participants
Wed love to hear from people with:
- Post-secondary degree in a related professional field such as Counseling Psychology and/or Social Sciences and 2 years of experience working with individuals with diverse abilities and backgrounds.
- Confident in delivering workshops and facilitating to diverse groups of youth
- Ability to work independently make decisions and execute work with minimal support in an environment with many urgent and competing priorities.
- Models sensitivity to the diverse needs of participants such as literacy emotional social behavioural and cultural differences and who can ensure participant information is kept confidential
- Exceptional interpersonal communication and conflict resolution skills
- Proficient computer skills including use of Microsoft Office tools
