This fellowship is an exciting new opportunity made possible by a generous donation from a long-time ABC audience member.
Step into a Science Journalism Fellowship with ABC Radio National and help bring big science and health ideas to curious Australians. Heres your chance to spend six months immersed in a globally celebrated science unit bringing your own project to life.
Develop research and produce a series of original stories for the ABC Radio National science unit covering topics in science or medicine with a focus on audiences under 40. Youll pitch bold ideas research compelling topics and produce original content across podcasts digital articles and social videoexperimenting with fresh formats and using audience insights to shape your work.
Youll collaborate closely with an experienced creative team and produce factchecked engaging storytelling that meets ABCs editorial standards.

About You
If youre a sharp storyteller with a passion for science strong production skills and a knack for turning complex topics into clear compelling content this is your chance to make an impact and grow your craft alongside an experienced collaborative team.
To thrive youll bring experience telling science or health stories for general audiences accomplished production skills in audio video or digital writing and a solid understanding of contemporary multimedia trends. Youll be curious collaborative comfortable juggling deadlines and committed to producing content that reflects the diversity of Australia. If you love turning complex ideas into accessible surprising and engaging stories this fellowship is your chance to make an impact.
Pitch us your best idea for a roughly six-month project in podcasting social media and/or online reporting then come and join the Radio National science unit to make it happen.
