The Opportunity

Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University is seeking a skilled and safety-focused HVAC Technician to join our Facilities Management team on the Daytona Beach Campus. This position plays a critical role in ensuring the efficient reliable and safe operation of campus-wide heating ventilation air conditioning and related mechanical systems.

The HVAC Technician will service and maintain a wide range of residential and commercial HVAC equipment including refrigeration systems computerized energy management systems chilled water systems boilers air compressors and associated control systems. This role is essential to maintaining a safe and comfortable learning and working environment for students faculty and staff.

This is an excellent opportunity for a mechanically inclined professional who enjoys hands-on work problem-solving and contributing to the daily operations of a dynamic campus environment. The position offers the opportunity to work with complex mechanical systems while supporting the infrastructure of a leading aerospace university.

Key Job Functions

• Install repair and maintain residential and commercial heating air conditioning and refrigeration systems.

• Service computerized energy management systems and associated complex control systems.

• Maintain and repair food service equipment including gas cooking equipment (propane and natural gas).

• Service and maintain hot water and steam boilers ice storage systems large commercial chilled water systems air compressors and water pumps.

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on HVAC and related mechanical equipment.

• Monitor and maintain cooling tower chemical levels chemical pumps and associated safety equipment.

• Maintain inventory of assigned tools parts equipment and cooling tower chemicals.

• Ensure safe operation of all HVAC equipment and maintain a safe working environment around mechanical systems.

• Read and interpret blueprints and technical diagrams; make necessary calculations and maintain accurate service records.

• Follow installation and service direction provided by the Foreman or Supervisor.

• Comply with all applicable local and state laws and safety regulations.

• Perform other duties as assigned.
