This posting is specifically for the Cybersecurity Applications stream of the Graduate Technology Leadership Program.

The Graduate Technology Leadership Program has three separate postings (Next Gen Networking Services Cybersecurity Applications and Software & AI Solutions.). We highly recommend applying only to the single stream you are most interested in and where your skills and experience are a strong fit.

What youll work on in the Cybersecurity Applications Stream:

As part of the GTLP you will complete 9-month rotations across 3 different teams to help you develop technical expertise and leadership skills. Rotations are designed to promote accelerated development. Once your first rotation is complete there is an opportunity to move within other streams (Next Gen Networking Services and Software & AI Solutions).

Your focus on this stream will be one or more of the following:

  • Contribute to the design implementation and management of security controls and architectures that protect TELUS critical assets networks and customer data.
  • Engage in threat intelligence security monitoring and incident response activities to maintain a proactive security posture.
  • Implement and automate security practices within CI/CD pipelines (DevSecOps) to ensure security is embedded from the start of the development lifecycle.
  • Assess vulnerabilities and risks across various technology domains including cloud platforms enterprise networks and applications.
  • Leverage security information and event management (SIEM) tools endpoint detection and response (EDR) and other advanced security technologies.

In this stream you will gain hands-on experience with modern tools and technologies essential for a world-class tech company. This may include building skills in one or some combination of the following area:

  • Security Infrastructure & Operations: Hands-on work with firewalls and advanced appliances as well as intrusion detection/prevention systems (IDS/IPS)
  • Threat Detection & Incident Response:Utilizing Next-Generation SIEM and SOAR platforms (e.g. Splunk LogRhythm ArcSight Azure Sentinel xSOAR) to monitor threats managing lifecycle vulnerabilities and performing digital forensics and malware analysis.
  • Cloud Security:Implementing security principles across major hyperscalers (GCP AWS Azure) utilizing tools for Cloud Security Posture Management (CSPM) and Cloud Workload Protection Platforms (CWPP) to secure containerized and serverless environments.
  • Automation & Scripting:Leveraging Python Ansible and Terraform to automate security playbooks firewall changes and infrastructure provisioning
  • DevSecOps & Application Security: Integrating security into CI/CD pipelines using tools like Jenkins GitHub and GitLab; conducting vulnerability management web application testing and ethical hacking (penetration testing).
  • Governance Risk & Fraud Analytics: Engaging in threat modelling fraud mitigation using AI/ML models and compliance management for standards

Required Education & Experience:

  • You must be a recent grad within one year or be expecting to graduate by August 2026 with a Bachelors or Masters degree in computer science engineering or a related technical degree.
  • Minimum4-12 months of relevant professional work internship or co-op experience in a technical environment.

  • Adaptable and comfortable working with unfamiliar tools and evolving technical landscapes
