As a Suncorp Product Manager you will shape and guide the evolution of Commercial and Rural insurance products across their lifecycle driving outcomes through strong product leadership collaboration and disciplined governance.

This role goes beyond technical product maintenance it requires a strategic product leader who can orchestrate outcomes across our stakeholders distribution and technology to deliver sustainable insurance solutions.

These portfolios operate in a regulated intermediated environment and require strong product management discipline governance capability and the ability to balance customer needs commercial outcomes and risk.

While experience in Commercial and/or Rural Insurance is advantageous we are equally interested in Product Managers from broader insurance or financial services backgrounds who bring deep experience operating in complex regulated product environments.

The Role

As a Product Manager you will manage the end to end lifecycle of products from discovery strategy and design through to delivery governance and ongoing monitoring and maintenance.

You will operate across the product ecosystem ensuring alignment between commercial objectives customer outcomes regulatory requirements and operational execution.

This role suits a Product Manager who:

What Youll Be Responsible For

Owning and managing products across their full lifecycle in line with governance compliance and risk frameworks

Translating customer broker and business needs into clear product strategies roadmaps and enhancements

Coordinating inputs across underwriting pricing claims legal risk operations and third-party providers to deliver cohesive outcomes

Leading product governance activities including preparation of papers forums and committee engagement

Maintaining and evolving policy wordings endorsements and intermediary arrangements with appropriate legal risk and reinsurance oversight

Identifying opportunities to simplify products improve customer and broker experience and enhance product efficiency

Actively contributing to a strong product management community across Suncorp NZ sharing capability and lifting practice maturity

Proven product management experience within insurance or broader financial services

Demonstrated ability to manage products end-to-end across multiple stakeholders and functions

Experience operating within formal governance compliance and regulatory frameworks

Strong commercial judgement and the ability to balance risk customer outcomes and profitability

High-impact stakeholder engagement influencing and negotiation capability

Skills and Experience

Background in Commercial and/or Rural Insurance (ideally)

Product management experience within insurance or other financial institutions

Strong stakeholder engagement influencing and negotiation skills

Ability to operate confidently in a regulated risk focused- environment
