The Behavioral Health unit is a 24 bed unit. What sets us apart from other units is the teamwork with all of us having the same goal: provide safe quality and compassionate care close to home!

How youll contribute

A Registered Nurse who excels in this role:

Performs plan-of-care interventions including medication administration specimen collection clinical treatments and other medical care activities.
Documents patient care provided in a timely and accurate manner.
Monitors records and communicates patient condition to the care team physicians patients and families.
Assists patients with activities of daily living (hygiene elimination nutrition ambulation).
Collaborates across disciplines to coordinate care (transfers discharges referrals and psychosocial/spiritual support needs).
Assesses learning needs and delivers age-/culture-appropriate patient and family education.
Advocates for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Participates in unit and organizational performance improvement and required continuing education.
Provides quality patient care and works other shifts/units as needed; may be assigned on-call.

What were looking for

The right person who willprovidedirect patient care to patients using the nursing process in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice.

Applicants must be a graduate of a professional school of nursing.Additional requirements include:

Current licensure as a Registered Nurse from the Virginia State Board of Nursing or a Compact State.
AHA BLS certification required.
Previous experience in acute care hospital setting preferred.
