About the role
The General Manager France Belgium & Luxembourg (FraBeLux) is responsible for managing the FraBeLux cluster and is a member of the EMEA Executive Committee and reports to the CEO EMEA. As the AIG FraBeLux General Manager you will be driving strategic initiatives overseeing operations and have P&L responsibility supporting the business performance across the FraBeLux cluster with your cluster leadership team.
How you will create an impact:
- Developing business strategies (within international guardrails) and financial targets for FraBeLux and ensuring successful execution of product development underwriting marketing communications distribution claims operations and strategy
- Making talent and resource allocation decisions for the region in alignment with the regional and global governance structure
- Ensuring the required standards of governance systems and controls and regulatory compliance are established and maintained throughout FraBeLux cluster.
- Leading the development and ongoing maintenance of AIGs customer centric and risk management culture
- Serving as a member of EMEA ExCo and interfacing with the regulators as
- Representing AIG to major clients and brokers
- Lead drive and supporting implementation of the organizational structures in the FraBeLux which includes underwriting excellence and the standing up of industry segments.
- Driving cross-border communication and continuous operational improvements to enable re-investment in growth opportunities
- Ensuring a culture of collaboration
- Communicating the AIGs vision mission and overall General Insurance direction
What you will need to succeed:
- A track record of financial and operational success in general insurance having delivered profitable growth in the destined region.
- A natural with clients who can represent AIG effectively and support the introduction establishment and growth of valuable client relationships in our FraBeLux Cluster
- Experienced people leader; a relationship developer and team builder; a strong focus on talent and leader- ship development; someone who attracts and develops high-caliber talent and who builds diverse high-per- forming teams.
- Proven ability to manage a broad range of stakeholders.
- Highly collaborative approach across functions and geographies.
- Ability to manage and influence in a matrix structure and across a wide geography.
- Significant FraBeLux industry experience stature and credibility in one or more product lines
- Several years experience in managing country operations or larger functional or product teams within the FraBeLux cluster.
- A leader who develops a bold vision and distinct strategies that result in competitive advantage.
- Proven track record of successfully operating in an international insurance carrier.
- Very good communication & interpersonal skills - fluency in written and spoken French and English.
