At AECOM we are currently recruiting for a Cost Manager to join our Dublin office.
The Cost Manager reports to the Cost Management Lead and supports all aspects of project budgeting procurement and cost control. The role is responsible for developing and implementing robust cost management processes overseeing procurement activities and ensuring compliance with relevant industry standards and organisational policies.
Working collaboratively with project teams the Cost Manager contributes to cohesive planning and efficient project execution while driving continuous improvement across the cost management function. This role is essential in ensuring the responsible use of funds and maintaining transparency and accountability in all financial processes.
Key accountabilities
- Develop and implement effective costcontrol processes to monitor manage and forecast project budgets and expenditure.
- Prepare review and maintain project budgets ensuring alignment with project objectives and financial constraints.
- Lead the full procurement lifecycle including prequalification tendering evaluation supplier selection and contract preparation.
- Oversee the preparation and assessment of tender documentation ensuring accuracy completeness and compliance with project requirements.
- Produce detailed cost reports and present insights to senior management providing recommendations to enhance financial efficiency and optimise costs.
- Work collaboratively with functional leadsincluding Cost Estimating Scheduling Scope and Benefits and Systems Implementationto support integrated planning and delivery.
- Partner with project managers and stakeholders to define cost objectives and monitor performance against established targets.
- Identify and assess costrelated risks and develop mitigation strategies to minimise financial exposure.
- Conduct detailed cost analyses and provide recommendations to support valueformoney outcomes and costsaving initiatives.
- Prepare and present cost reports including variance analyses and cost projections to support informed decisionmaking.
- Proactively monitor and manage cost variances and contract cash flow ensuring accurate and timely submission of applications. Ensure all costmanagement activities comply with relevant regulations standards and industry best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement within the costmanagement function by promoting bestpractice methodologies and innovative approaches.
- Coach and support junior team members delegating responsibilities to ensure effective delivery of costmanagement activities.
- Undertake additional duties as required to support the role and ensure successful project delivery.

We are seeking a highly experienced professional with a strong background in our primary infrastructure markets.
As the successful candidate you will bring the following qualifications and experience:
- A Level 8 degree (or equivalent) in a relevant discipline
- Proven experience in delivering cost management for projects or projects of comparable complexity and scale.
- Extensive experience supporting costmanagement activities within major project environments enabling the achievement of programme goals and objectives.
- Significant expertise in conceptual project budgeting construction risk identification scheduling project planning design and cost estimating across multiple project stages.
- Strong experience engaging with a wide range of stakeholders at all organisational levels influencing process improvements and providing guidance to support effective project delivery and reporting.
