Are you ready to join a team of wastewater modellers and shape the future of the Water Industry

Join our dynamic and multidisciplinary Water Team as a Wastewater Modeller. You can be based in one of our UK or Ireland offices whilst also taking advantage of our flexible hybrid working model.

You will be a key player in delivering impactful water projects across the UK and internationally. We enable the development of significant flood alleviation schemes pollution reduction and infrastructure projects and this variety will be fundamental to your continuous professional growth. A unique aspect of our approach is that our modelling team is fully integrated with the wider project teams ensuring that our modellers work closely alongside experts in other areas to develop comprehensive solutions.

As an industry leader in Blue-Green infrastructure and nature-based solutions we work with both public and private sector clients such as Severn Trent Anglian Water Northern Ireland Water the Environment Agency LLFAs and other infrastructure providers. We deliver Flood Risk Assessments Drainage Strategies Outline Business Cases hydraulic models and detailed designs. We shape industry standards by advising and developing guidance that benchmarks best practices keeping AECOM at the forefront of the water industry. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to support a talented diverse team committed to innovation collaboration and efficiency.

Heres what youll do:

  • Develop calibrate and verify wastewater network models using industry-standard software (e.g. InfoWorks ICM).
  • Carry out technical and administrative tasks of limited to moderate complexity related to hydrology and groundwater investigations that inform wastewater modelling studies.
  • Support assignments that may span the wider field of hydrology and related technical disciplines working to defined project scopes with regular professional review.
  • Analyse modelling outputs and environmental data preparing technical reports and supporting documentation.
  • Monitor and interpret data to assess the impacts of upstream activities on wastewater systems and confirm compliance with relevant permits and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with engineers planners and environmental specialists to deliver integrated solutions.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of modelling processes and technical standards.

Qualifications :

Ready to push the limits of whats possible

Heres what were looking for:

  • Degree in Civil Engineering Environmental Engineering Water Resources Hydrology or related discipline.
  • Experience in wastewater or hydraulic modelling within consultancy or utility environments.
  • Working knowledge of industry-standard modelling tools (e.g. InfoWorks ICM HEC-RAS TUFLOW or similar).
  • Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret complex datasets.
  • Clear communication and report-writing skills.
  • A proactive collaborative approach to working within multidisciplinary teams.

You will also be self-motivated with an ability to work both autonomously where required with a strong sense of commitment a willingness to learn and a desire to work in a dynamic deadline driven team environment.
