The role

As a Licensed Aircraft Engineer youll join a dynamic multidisciplined aviation engineering team dedicated to delivering safe compliant dependable aircraft. Working alongside mechanical and avionic specialists youll ensure the effective generation and release to service of aircraft that support vital defence operations.

Day-to-day youll be:

Carrying out aircraft engineering line and depth maintenance to ensure serviceable safe aircraft.
Performing releasetoservice responsibilities in accordance with regulatory and safety requirements.
Providing clear technical guidance to technicians and inspectors during maintenance activities.
Supporting both Babcock and client stakeholders with technical insight and problemsolving.
Completing engineering documentation ensuring standards compliance and accuracy at all times.

This is a fulltime role working 40 hours per week and is based on site at MOD Boscombe Down Wiltshire.

Essential experience of the Licensed Aircraft Engineer:

Proven problemsolving and analytical capability within an engineering environment.
Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience.
Strong communication skills to engage effectively with colleagues and customers.
Ability to prioritise simplify complexity and use sound judgement in operational decisions.
Knowledge of composite materials and MoD engineering procedures/documentation.

Qualifications for the Licensed Aircraft Engineer:

EASA Part 66 B1 licence.
Supervisory experience in a civil or military aviation environment.
Ability to demonstrate required practical and theoretical engineering standards.
Full UK driving licence.
(Desirable) Type rating on Grob 115E aircraft and Lycoming 360 engines.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) / Counter Terrorist Check (CTC) security clearance for this role.
