Assistant Swim Coach

This position is responsible for coaching the Hershey Country Club Swim Team through practices 6 interclub meets and one championship meet.

Job Duties (Duties marked with an asterisk are essential functions of this job):

• Duties include assisting the Head Coach in managing the team.

• Conducting practices

• Providing instruction on strokes starts and turns

• Encouraging/motivating each swimmer regardless of ability.

• Assisting Head Coach in managing home and away meets; conferring with the Swim Team Parents Committee.

• Coordinating swim team activities with the Pool Manager.

• Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Must be at least 16 years of age or older on the date of applying.

• This position may provide care supervision guidance or control of children or may have regular ongoing contact with children that is integral to the responsibilities of the position. As a result in accordance with Pennsylvanias Child Protective Services Law newly hired candidates are required to obtain the following clearances: a report of criminal history from the Pennsylvania State Police (PSP) Child Abuse History Clearance from the Department of Human Services (Child Abuse) and Fingerprint-based federal criminal history submitted through the Pennsylvania State Police or its authorized agent (FBI). Completed clearances are required to be submitted prior to starting employment.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

• Minimum of 1 year experience as a swim coach preferred.

Job Demands:

• This is a seasonal position available for the summer season beginning in May.

• Applicants that are currently certified through American Red Cross or other Certification programs are eligible to apply.

• Must be available from Mid-May through Mid-July. Practices start in June 5:00 PM-8:00 PM in the evenings until school is out. Then switch to 9:00 AM -12:00 PM when school is out. Swim meets are held Tuesdays and Thursdays at 12:00 PM starting June 14 through July 8th.
