Title: Christian School TeacherPurpose:The Christian School Teacher shall prayerfully help students learn attitudes skills and subject matter to produce the next generation of well-rounded servant leaders as well as contribute to their development as mature able and responsible Christians to the praise and glory of Status: Full-time 10-month contract position as approved by the Christian Education Board for one year Working Hours: 8:25 am 3:20 pm M-F during the school year including teacher in-service and out-service days; additional hours as required to complete work for the position as well as mandatory attendance at meetings and events as listed in the Faculty Handbook Location: TCA ClassroomReporting Relationship:Principal oversees all TCA staff; has direct oversight of all academic areas including the development and evaluation of the teaching staffEssential Job Functions and Responsibilities:Key Accountability Instructional Preparation and ImplementationDuty Statements Plan prepare and deliver lessons to all students in the class following the prescribed scope and sequence as scheduled by the Principal Plan and present a program of study that as much as possible meets the individual needs interests abilities and diversity of the students and their various learning styles challenging each to do his/her best including but not limited to o Using engaging creative and appropriate assignments and resources o Assigning homework with a clear purpose o Utilizing valid teaching techniques to achieve curriculum goals within the framework of the schools philosophy Integrate biblical principles and the Christian philosophy of education throughout the curriculum and activities Plan weekly lesson plans utilizing FACTS Plan thoroughly by preparing a quarterly and semester lesson plan overview according to the scope and sequence of the course Works with colleagues to develop interdisciplinary and cross-curricular collaboration Prepare adequate information and materials for a substitute teacherKey Accountability Classroom ManagementDuty Statements Promoting the general progress and well-being of individual students including but not limited to o Leading students to a realization of their self-worth in Christ o Motivating students to accept Gods gift of salvation and help them grow in their faith through their witness and Christian role modeling Set the expectation that all students participate in class activities Establish clear expectations (assignments tests etc) and objectives for the classroom in a timely manner Start and end classes on time Develop appropriate relationships with students; NOTE: Some teachers may be asked to pursue additional coursework for their position. If additional coursework is required the classes preparation and studying is to be done outside the normal working hours.
