The Role
As Head of Science you will take full strategic responsibility for the leadership and development of the Science department across Biology Chemistry and Physics.
Your responsibilities will include:
Leading the strategic direction of Science across KS3 & KS4 with strong and established KS5 provision
Driving high standards of teaching learning and assessment across all key stages
Monitoring student progress through robust data analysis and implementing targeted intervention strategies
Line managing and mentoring subject leaders and classroom teachers
Overseeing curriculum development to ensure it remains ambitious coherent and knowledge-rich
Preparing students effectively for GCSE and A-Level examinations
Promoting enrichment opportunities including STEM clubs competitions university partnerships and trips
Contributing to whole-school leadership and improvement priorities
You will maintain a teaching timetable and model exemplary classroom practice setting the standard for high-quality engaging and rigorous Science teaching.

The Ideal Candidate
Qualified Teacher with QTS (or equivalent)
Strong subject knowledge across Science with the ability to teach to KS5
Proven middle or senior leadership experience within a secondary setting
A track record of raising attainment and improving outcomes
Strong organisational analytical and communication skills
A collaborative leadership style with high expectations
