Job Summary

Job Title: Bookkeeper Customer Support Specialist (Remote)

Location: Remote (Must overlap with Eastern Time working hours)
Salary: $1500$1700 USD/month (Negotiable based on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time (40 hours/week)
Start Date: ASAP (Urgent Hire)

About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and proactive Mid-Level Bookkeeper Customer Support Specialist to support a founder-led multi-entity business portfolio. This role blends financial management with light operational support and requires someone comfortable working across multiple entities in a dynamic startup environment.

The primary focus is bookkeeping and financial clarity. The secondary focus is managing a shared inbox and handling basic customer inquiries. This is not a call center role support is primarily email-based.

You will work directly with founders and play a key role in improving financial visibility tracking profitability and supporting investor readiness.

Key Responsibilities

Bookkeeping & Finance (Primary Focus)

  • Manage bookkeeping across multiple entities

  • Organize and categorize expenses (business limited personal tracking)

  • Handle Accounts Receivable (A/R) and Accounts Payable (A/P)

  • Track margins cost per order and unit economics

  • Perform profitability analysis across products and entities

  • Build and maintain financial clarity dashboards (currently Excel-based)

  • Clean and structure financial data for investor readiness

  • Support accounting system evaluation or migration (QuickBooks knowledge preferred but not currently in use)

  • Ensure accurate financial reporting to support strategic decisions


Customer Support (Secondary Responsibility)

  • Manage the shared info@ inbox

  • Respond to basic customer inquiries:

    • Damaged items

    • Incorrect shipments

    • Shipping timelines

  • Manage TikTok Shop inquiries

  • Escalate complex issues to founders when necessary

This is a low-volume primarily email-based support function.


Required Skills & Qualifications

Technical / Hard Skills

  • Strong bookkeeping experience (multi-entity experience preferred)

  • Advanced Excel proficiency (formulas dashboards financial modeling)

  • Experience managing multiple business accounts

  • Deep understanding of:

    • COGS

    • Cost per order

    • Margin tracking

    • Unit economics

  • A/R and A/P management experience

  • Experience with e-commerce financials (Shopify familiarity is a bonus)

  • Comfortable learning or recommending accounting software (QuickBooks knowledge preferred)

  • Strong written English communication skills for customer email handling
