Job Summary
Position Overview
Windham Academy is seeking a reliable attentive and student-centered School Lunch Monitor to help maintain a safe orderly and positive environment during student lunch periods and recess transitions. The Lunch Monitor plays an important role in supporting student supervision reinforcing school expectations and ensuring the well-being of all students during non-instructional time.
Primary Responsibilities
Supervise students in the cafeteria and/or designated lunch areas during assigned lunch periods.
Promote and maintain a safe respectful and inclusive environment.
Monitor student behavior and ensure adherence to school rules and expectations.
Assist students with minor needs (opening containers spills seating guidance etc.).
Support smooth transitions to and from lunch and recess.
Address minor behavioral concerns and refer ongoing or significant issues to administration.
Ensure cleanliness of tables and surrounding areas encouraging students to clean up after themselves.
Skills & Attributes
Positive and supportive approach to student interactions.
Awareness of student safety and supervision best practices.
Ability to work collaboratively as part of a school team.
Strong observational skills and attentiveness.
