PacAeros core businesses include an array of electronic connectors and housings for the worlds most extreme environments. PacAero is primarily located in Wenatchee WA with a remote manufacturing site Bonded Metals located in Sequim WA. Working together we employ proprietary technologies best practices engineering and specialized manufacturing techniques to produce hermetic connectors and electronic packaging that perform in the worlds most extreme environments. PacAeros products are hard at work in medical components such as cardiac-function devices on key aerospace & defense programs in space and deep below the earths surface.
The Position:
Job Summary
Working under general supervision the Kryoflex Press Technician I operates designated equipment to make Kryoflex pre-forms using supplied material and tools. This role requires some mechanical aptitude with hand tools and machinery. This role will also require training in dimensional inspection and documentation per instructions and prints. This position requires basic knowledge of computer systems.
Schedule: Monday - Thursday 3:00pm-1:30am and will include a $2/hr shift premium.
Primary Responsibilities
- Work cooperatively with all employees.

- Observe safety regulations and follow protective equipment requirements. Report hazardous observations to Management personnel.
- Follow daily clean up and housekeeping procedures.
- Comply with all quality safety and work-related rules and regulations.
- The ability to complete tasks in a reasonably timely manner.
Kryoflex Press Technician I Responsibilities
- Demonstrate a basic ability to read and comprehend drawings and other applicable documentation.
- Understand the necessity of high-quality standards.
- Ability to find and interpret Engineering Drawings to correctly determine requirements.
- Perform the following functions:
- Proficient usage of microscopes.
- Ability to learn and use applicable area equipment.
- Must be able to utilize specified tooling as needed.
- Demonstrate the ability to accurately and efficiently use applicable measuring tools such as but not limited to Calipers Micrometers gauge pins and Digital Indicators.
- Will operate one preform manufacturing machine/system using prepared materials issued from the Ceramic Lab. Within 3 months of starting shall demonstrate basic proficiency with one of the following:
- Old Press
- PTX Press
- CMD
- Within 3 months of starting be able to make basic pre-forms on the assigned system using Kryoflex 313.
- Understand and identify the basic tooling components of their assigned machine.
- Work with Ceramics lab for proper handling of Kryoflex materials.
- Learn to use the correct tools techniques and equipment necessary for in-process inspection of raw and/or completed Kryoflex preforms ensuring they meet the dimensional and visual preform requirements.
- Must be willing to work with known hazardous materials under controlled conditions.
- Maintain controlled-environment cleanliness standards during all production activities.
- Perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by area Lead or Supervisor.
- Must be able to retain information and show continued progression towards a Kryoflex Press Technician II role.
- Ability to operate equipment including pre-form presses ovens scales microscopes lapping wheels and CMD machines.
- Maintain workload while achieving departmental efficiency and quality standards.
- Communicate efficiently with lead and supervisor regarding work status issues or material need.
- In-process visual inspections under a microscope to confirm compliance with quality standards.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Previous experience preferred but not required.
Work Environment
- Noise:
- Sandblast Room: can often be a loud environment with constant noise from equipment requiring hearing protection.
- Ceramic Lab: Air handling equipment generates constant noise.
- Safety hazards: Use of certain tools and equipment may expose employees to hazardous conditions including but not limited to high temperatures sharp tools and components airborne dust and noxious fumes. Heavy lifting may be required when assisting in the Ceramics lab. Proper lifting techniques are essential to prevent injury.
- Hazardous Materials: The work involves exposure to airborne particles and chemical fumes requiring adequate ventilation and use of proper PPE and other protective measures to minimize health risks.
- All work in the Ceramics Department exposes employees to lead-based materials. All personnel assigned to the Ceramics Department are subject to periodic blood analysis to monitor and quantify occupational exposure to lead and ensure compliance with established safety standards.
- Protective Equipment: Personnel are required to properly utilize all assigned Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to laboratory coats particulate-filtering dust masks or respirators and protective gloves as specified by departmental safety protocols and task requirements. Compliance with PPE use and safety procedures is mandatory to maintain a safe working environment and ensure adherence to regulatory standards.
Physical Requirements:
- Lifting: The job frequently requires lifting and moving material up to 50 Lbs.
- Manual dexterity: Fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination are necessary for manipulating tools loading preforms onto fixtures or tiles setting up ovens and performing precise measurements.
- Repetitive motion: Many tasks are repetitive and can potentially lead to musculoskeletal issues over time.
- Precision and vision: Kryoflex Press technicians must have excellent close-up vision depth perception inspect finished products and use measuring instruments.
- Stamina: Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods of time and perform physically demanding tasks for the duration of a shift including tooling installation loading materials and conducting in-process quality control checks.
