Job Summary

The Construction Field Coordinator supports the delivery of municipal infrastructure projects by coordinating daily site activities monitoring construction progress and ensuring work complies with engineering designs municipal standards and regulatory requirements. This role provides onsite technical support for projects involving water distribution systems sanitary and storm sewers roadway construction grading and related civil works.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate daily construction activities across multiple civil disciplines.
  • Review drawings specifications and field revisions to ensure accurate execution.
  • Liaise with contractors consultants utilities and municipal departments.
  • Conduct site inspections to verify compliance with design standards and contract requirements.
  • Document field conditions progress and deficiencies through daily reports and inspection logs.
  • Monitor material quality workmanship testing and commissioning activities.
  • Identify and resolve field issues including utility conflicts and unforeseen site conditions.
  • Manage RFIs site instructions change orders and design clarifications.
  • Promote and enforce safety environmental and traffic control requirements.
  • Maintain accurate field records and support progress reporting cost tracking and payment verification.
  • Communicate construction impacts and participate in site coordination and public engagement meetings.

Qualifications :

Minimum Requirements

  • 6 years of direct experience or a mixture of education and related work experience
  • Strong understanding of municipal infrastructure construction methods and standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings specifications and survey layouts.
  • Familiarity with municipal standards OH&S regulations and environmental requirements.
  • Experience with inspection tools GPS/survey equipment and construction software.

Preferred Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in municipal construction or civil field inspection.
  • Diploma or degree in civil engineering technology construction management or related field.
  • CET designation or eligibility (asset).
  • Valid AB drivers license access to a vehicle and ability to work outdoors in varying conditions.
  • Clear communication and conflictresolution abilities.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently in the field and make informed decisions.
  • Collaborative mindset for working with contractors engineers and municipal staff
