We are looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Fintech domain and play a critical role in shaping a reliable scalable and evolving platform that supports both customer payments and internal finance operations.
This is a high impact leadership role in a business critical domain. The scope covers the full lifecycle of efoods payment and financial transaction flows from the moment a customer pays for an order through downstream processing and controls including refunds cancellations fraud checks vendor payouts reporting and regulatory responsibilities. The role requires strong engineering judgment people leadership and the ability to drive progress across a complex stakeholder environment.
You will work closely with Product Managers Finance stakeholders Engineering leaders C-level stakeholders and Delivery Hero teams to improve domain operations raise the technical bar and support the evolution of the domain as the business grows.
Our tech environment
We operate a microservice architecture with more than 80 services that handle high request volumes using both synchronous and event-driven communication patterns.
Our stack includes Golang REST APIs gRPC Kubernetes AWS and GCP PostgreSQL MongoDB Redis and messaging platforms such as Kafka and cloud messaging services.
We are part of the Delivery Hero group and collaborate closely with their Global Services teams.
What you will do:
Lead the Fintech engineering domain through a mixed team structure that includes an Engineering Manager and senior engineers and shape the team structure over time based on domain priorities scale and organizational needs.
Partner closely with Product Managers to support delivery of new payment capabilities and domain improvements while contributing technical perspective tradeoffs and prioritization input.
Work closely with Finance stakeholders to improve end-to-end finance flows reduce discrepancies increase automation and drive clarity across cross-team issues and dependencies.
Provide technical leadership across the domain by guiding architecture and design decisions coaching engineers and managers and raising the bar on engineering quality ownership and system thinking.
Drive execution across multiple services and teams including dependencies on Delivery Hero-provided services by keeping priorities clear surfacing risks early and maintaining visibility on progress constraints and outcomes.
Support the team in balancing feature delivery reliability and technical improvements with selective hands-on involvement when needed to unblock progress or support critical decisions.
Coach mentor and support the growth of engineers and managers through regular feedback clear expectations career development conversations and a high standard for accountability and collaboration.
Contribute to domain planning and roadmap definition in partnership with Product and leadership including architecture improvements operational efficiency reliability and maintainability.
Ensure domain services and systems are reliable secure scalable and well operated with strong engineering practices clear ownership and disciplined operational readiness and observability.
Promote effective collaboration across engineering product finance and external partners and help the team navigate ambiguity and organizational complexity.

Qualifications :
10 years of professional software engineering experience with at least 4 years in engineering management roles.
Strong experience in engineering leadership roles with proven people management experience and the ability to lead senior engineers. Experience managing managers is a strong plus.
Strong technical background in backend and distributed systems with the ability to guide architecture and engineering decisions in a microservices environment.
Ability to lead through complexity and ambiguity especially in domains with many stakeholders cross-team dependencies and business-critical workflows.
Proven experience coaching engineers and engineering leaders and improving team execution ownership and engineering practices.
Experience partnering effectively with Product Managers and non-engineering stakeholders to drive outcomes and resolve ambiguity.
Strong communication and collaboration skills in English with the ability to work across technical and non-technical audiences.
Solid understanding of API based systems event-driven communication patterns and operational reliability concerns.
Ability to get up to speed quickly in complex domains and drive progress through structured thinking and clear prioritization.
Nice to have but not mandatory for the role:
Experience in payments fintech finance systems accounting adjacent workflows or other high-integrity transaction domains.
Experience working in organizations with shared platforms or external group dependencies.
Experience with Go in production systems.
Experience with cloud platforms containerized environments SQL and NoSQL data stores and messaging systems.
