What youd be doing in this role
As Canva scales change continues to be part of our DNA. But we like to think thats all part of the fun. So this will give you the flavour of the type of things youll be working on when you start but this will likely evolve.
At the moment this role is focused on:
- Inspiring interest in deeply understanding LatAm customers what motivates them to use our product and how to build experiences that drive higher satisfaction ongoing engagement and retention.
- Understanding the broader LatAm market and competitive landscape our brand territory and positioning in the region hone our audience propositions and work with product performance social media community and brand marketing teams to develop test and measure our brand health campaign strategy and plans.
- Developing core frameworks methodologies databases and reporting solutions to support internal decision-making and answer critical business questions specific to LatAm markets.
- Leveraging the power of Canvas data and systems in combination with qualitative and quantitative research to generate hypotheses plan and deliver high-impact research that drives growth across the region.
- Producing highly actionable and authoritative insights that impact our growth initiatives and marketing strategy for LatAm while balancing business requirements and research rigour.
- Partnering with the Head of Marketing Research to ensure LatAm insights inform global research programs and strategy while adapting global frameworks to work effectively in LatAm context.
- Building strong relationships with cross-functional stakeholders across LatAm and globally becoming a trusted advisor on customer insights and market intelligence for the region.

You have extraordinary communication and storytelling skills with experience presenting to stakeholders at all levels and youre skilled at addressing both large and small audiences across multiple leadership levels and functions.
- 6-8 years of experience in market research and insights roles leading quantitative and qualitative primary research that delivers business results
- Deep domain expertise for market research and insights with a mix of qualitative and quantitative research experience plus knowledge of media effectiveness measurement
- Strong knowledge and experience conducting research across LatAm markets with cultural sensitivity and understanding of regional nuances
- Ability to break down complex topics into simple solutions ideas and actionable outcomes that drive business decisions
- Experience influencing and earning the trust of senior stakeholders and moving business teams to take action based on research insights
- Proven experience in end-to-end research and user-centred design methods from scoping research questions through to delivering insights and recommendations
- Proficiency with research tools and platforms data analysis software and the ability to work with both structured and unstructured data
About the team
The LatAm Marketing team works to fuel truly local growth in one of Canvas most critical regions. As part of Canvas global marketing organisation the team exists to understand LatAm customers deeply and build marketing strategies that resonate with local audiences while connecting to Canvas global brand. The team works closely with Marketing Product and Growth to ensure the approach is informed by rich insights about what LatAm customers need how they use Canva and how Canva can better serve them. The team is passionate about bringing Canva to millions more people across Latin America by staying close to customers and markets.
As Marketing Research Lead (LatAm) youll work to answer some of the most challenging questions we have to unlock growth across Latin America. Were looking for someone with a holistic set of qualitative and quantitative methodological skills the ability to credibly persuade and influence stakeholders and a proven track record of delivering high-impact research. Youll be the research expert for the LatAm region combining deep customer insights with market intelligence to help us market to the right audiences with the right messages and tactics. Youll partner with the Head of Marketing Research to connect regional insights to global strategy while working closely with LatAm marketing teams to ensure research drives real impact.
