About the Role
Based in Darwin this role includes a mix of workshop duties and field service support across major civil construction projects. You will service maintain diagnose and repair a broad range of Caterpillar (CAT) heavy mobile plant and civil machinery.
Some travel may be required.
Relocating to Darwin Weve Got You Covered.
For candidates outside the Darwin region Black Cat Civil provides:
Mobilisation flight to Darwin
Single-person accommodation on-site for up to 6 months
Transport of tools and personal vehicle on role acceptance
BCC paid relocation of personal household items on the successful completion of probationary period
Key Responsibilities
Servicing repairs & preventative maintenance on heavy mobile plant
Diagnostics & troubleshooting using OEM systems
Attend breakdowns & deliver on-site field service support
Major component rebuilds (engine transmission hydraulics)
Commissioning new machines to site specifications
Complete service reports job cards & maintenance records
Work closely with Fleet Manager & Workshop Supervisor
Maintain compliance with safety and quality standards
Skills & Experience
Trade Qualification: Diesel Fitter / Heavy Vehicle Mechanic / Mobile Plant (Cert III)
2 years post-trade experience
Experience with CAT equipment (highly regarded)
Strong hydraulic & diesel systems knowledge
Proven breakdown & diagnostic capability
Field service experience desirable
ARC AirCon ticket (desirable)
HR/HC licence (advantageous)
Strong safety mindset & ability to work independently
