In your internship at a globally leading medical technology companyyoullbe right in the middle of the action:The Stryker Sports Medicine team in Freiburg develops patient-specific solutions to support clinical decision-making for indications that can be treated with minimally invasive joint surgery.
As an intern in the team you will contribute to the advancement of the Sports Medicine patient-specific solution offering. You will investigate and implement novel analysis methods as well as evaluate the results.

As a valued member of our international Sports Medicine R&Dteamyou support the advancement of image-based enabling technologies.
Working with medical image data you will extend yourproficiencyin AI/ML by applying computer vision andmachinelearning techniques to develop innovative solutions that can be used in pre-operative analysis and planning.
You will be involved in all aspects ofAI/MLalgorithm development including data preparation and labeling.
You will gain insights intohow research supports defining solutions for new product development in the medical device industry.
You will enhance your scripting skills by automating your developed approaches and evaluations and allow for efficient processing of data.

Academic Pursuit:You are currently pursuingamastersdegree incomputer science softwareengineering orsimilarstudyand are actively seeking an internshipfor a 6-month duration.Ideallyyou havepreviousexperience with medical imaging.
Technical Drive:You are passionate about improving your technicalexpertise especially in areas like AI/MLsoftwaredevelopmentand medical imaging.
Software Savvy:Ideally you are proficient in Python development and have initial experience with deep learning and frameworks such asTensorfloworPyTorchand/or computer vision libraries (e.g.OpenCV) enabling you to work independently.
Effective Communication: Your strong spoken and written English skills empower you to confidently engage in our international environment and successfully document your work in scientific English.
Duration of your internship: 6 months (full-time)
Type of internship: We offer voluntary internships alongside your studies compulsory internships/practical semesters and a combination of both
