Position Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse Director to oversee our Surgical Services department. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surgical nursing and leadership with a passion for providing exceptional patient care. Key Responsibilities: - Develop and implement strategic plans for the Surgical Services department in alignment with the organizations overall goals and objectives - Manage and coordinate all aspects of surgical patient care including pre-operative intra-operative and post-operative care - Ensure compliance with all regulatory and accreditation standards as well as best practices for surgical nursing - Lead and mentor a team of surgical nurses providing guidance support and professional development opportunities - Collaborate with other department leaders to ensure seamless and efficient operations within the surgical unit - Monitor and analyze department performance metrics identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as needed - Develop and manage department budget including forecasting and cost containment strategies - Foster a culture of patient safety and satisfaction ensuring the highest level of care is provided to all patients - Serve as a liaison between the surgical department and other departments within the organization as well as external stakeholders - Stay current on industry trends and advancements in surgical nursing incorporating new techniques and technologies into department practices as appropriate Qualifications: - Current registered nurse (RN) license in the state of Alaska - Bachelors degree in nursing (BSN) required Masters degree in nursing (MSN) preferred - Minimum of 5 years of experience in surgical nursing with at least 2 years in a leadership/management role - Strong knowledge of surgical nursing best practices regulations and accreditation standards - Excellent communication leadership and critical thinking skills - Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse team and build strong relationships with stakeholders - Proven track record of driving positive outcomes and achieving departmental goals - Proficient in budget management and analysis - Flexibility to work varying shifts and on-call as needed At Progeny HR Solutions LLC we value diversity and are committed to creating an inclusive and welcoming workplace for all employees.
