Careys Building Contractors are seeking an enthusiastic Environmental Management Officer to join our team based in Galway
This role will be office-based in Galway with travelling to sites predominantly in Connaught.

Tasks and Responsibilities
Maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with the international standard for Environmental Management Systems (EMS)ISO 14001.
Ensure compliance with environmental legislation. Staying updated on both Irish and European Regulations.
Carry out environmental audits and advise on appropriate corrective action.
Ensure all environmental-related measures are in place prior to commencement of Works on projects.
Maintain records of all relevant waste permits licenses in line with legislation.
Liaise with relevant stakeholders on live construction projects. i.e. PSDP/ Local Authorities
Develop and maintain Sustainability Plans in relation to Life Cycle Assessment
Develop and maintain EPA certification library for de-carbonisation.
Liaison with the QS dept. to develop BOQ: Carbon assessment processes and documentation for compliance purposes.
Produce project specific Waste Management Plans and Environmental Management Plans.
Provide documentation to demonstrate compliance with Natura Impact Statements and Environmental Impact Statements.
Produce specific project related documentation to support tender stage responses.
Qualifications
A level 8 qualification in an Environmental-related field
Full clean manual driving license
3 years post graduate experience is desirable
Construction-related experience is desirable
