Job Summary

RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Functions

  • Meet Space Camp attendees behind TSA checkpoint/at gate to escort attendees to Camp Facilities.
  • Assist attendees with lost luggage forms and airport paperwork.
  • Assist attendees and coordinate with parents to prepare Unaccompanied Minor paperwork and baggage fees.
  • Supervise departing camp attendees at their gate until their aircraft has departed.
  • Work with airlines and parents to rebook attendees due to weather cancelations or delays.
  • Provide early morning/late night transportation to trainees to and from Huntsville international Airport.
  • Serve as a customer-facing representative at Huntsville International Airport on behalf of the USSRC.
  • Prepare departure wristbands for distribution to campers.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

Level of Supervision: None

Travel Required: Yes local. Between the Rocket Center and Huntsville Airport.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education

High school or G.E.D.

Required Experience

  • OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Physical Requirements

This position has the following special requirements:

  • Walking and standing for long periods. (6 hours)
  • Carrying and lifting 50 lbs
  • Climbing up and down stairs.
  • Reading comprehension and reasoning skills. (Reading/interpreting flight boards)
  • Good verbal communication skills

Eligibility Qualifications

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States.
  • Must have Valid US drivers license and be 21 years of age or older.
  • Must be able to obtain TSA Sterile Area certification pending fingerprint and Federal background check.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

Environmental Factors

Expected Hours of Work:

  • Friday Saturday & Sunday availability required. Work hours are 5:00am-11:00pm some early mornings and late nights will be required as needed based on flight delays.
  • Additional shifts may be available Mondays Wednesdays and Thursdays 8:00am-6:00pm.
