Payroll Clerk
Seeking a qualified individual with experience to process in house employee payroll remit weekly quarterly annual taxes manages employee benefits and various other accounting duties
Responsibilities Include:
- Process new hires in DMS Timekeeping Payroll system
- Process multi state weekly & monthly payroll using in house system.
- Compile & process payroll data such as vacation time garnishments benefit deductions 401K
- Remit weekly quarterly and annual taxes to State and Federal Government as required by law
including W-2s - Manage employee Benefits. Providing benefit orientation & enrollment.
- Update payroll records by entering changes in address exemptions insurance coverage
deductions 401K etc. - Maintain records for employee time off vacations sick days.
- Manage workers comp claims hearings unemployment claims verification of employment etc
- Manage employee time clock system & attendance software.
- Reconcile monthly & annual 401K deductions and remit to vendor.
- Process payable checks as required.
- Prepare accounting transactions into general ledge as required
- Provide support to analyze research and resolve problems and errors within the system
- Provide support for payroll reporting; compiling summaries of earnings taxes deductions and
insurance. Additional reporting as directed by manager. - Process employee termination papers including Cobra documents
- Balance and reconcile accounts including bank statements
- Keep abreast and maintain working knowledge of all HR and Payroll policies and procedures
Skills/Qualifications
- Prior payroll processing experience is mandatory.
- Ability to analyze and research problems
- Strong organization and communication skills
- High attention to detail
- Understands the importance of working with a high level of confidentiality and integrity
- Ability to exercise a moderate amount of independent judgement
