Job Summary

Are you a compassionate tech-savvy Medical Assistant who thrives in both direct patient care and the coordination that keeps everything running smoothly behind the scenes Penobscot Pediatrics is seeking a dynamic MA for a unique role supporting pediatric primary care our fast-paced Clinical Messaging Desk and essential lab functions. This position blends hands-on care with triage coordination and lab workflowsoffering variety autonomy and meaningful impact every day. Youll partner closely with providers support timely communication with families and help ensure care moves forward seamlessly. Schedule: Full-Time Monday-Thursday 7am-5:30pm (Fridays Weekends OFF)

Highlights of the position:

      • Mission-Driven Clinical Excellence Demonstrates compassion collaboration clear communication and sound clinical judgment in every interaction supporting safe high-quality care for the children and families we serve.

      • Integrated Primary Care Support Partners directly with a Pediatrician to deliver comprehensive patient care including pre-visit planning chart review medication refills rooming and hands-on clinical support in alignment with PCHCs Medical Assistant Job Description and Clinical Competency Checklist.

      • Clinical Messaging Desk Coverage Provides desktop coverage triages clinical requests and supports care teams across the clinic. Maintains strong knowledge of provider workflows to ensure timely seamless communication and coordination of care.

      • Laboratory Services Support Performs phlebotomy and specimen processing with accuracy and efficiency ensuring reliable lab workflows that contribute to timely diagnosis and treatment.

      • Quality Safety & Team Collaboration Assists in maintaining exam rooms equipment and supplies; upholds quality assurance and safety standards; and collaborates closely with clinical and administrative teams to ensure smooth operations and exceptional patient experiences.

      Required:

      • High school diploma or equivalent required.
      • Evidence of Medical Assistant training including all the essential job functions knowledge skills and abilities listed here in this job description or MA Certification required.
      • Will have up to-date training and certification in Healthcare Provider Basic Life Support issued by American Heart Association American Red Cross or American Health & Safety Institute. Must obtain within 2 weeks if not current at hire.
      • Initial and maintained Certification is highly encouraged and supported.

      Preferred:

      • Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assistants or
        CMA- Certification by the AAMA or
        RMA- Certification by the AMT or
        CCMA- Certification by the NHA.
        Or prepared to certify within 60 days of hire.
