Program Overview

The Jackson Hole Leadership Program (JHLP) is a summer initiative for youth in Jackson Wyoming designed to foster leadership self-confidence and positive decision-making through experiential outdoor activities.

TYFS will be offering Phase 1 only this year as we work to build the program in future years. For youth entering 5th to 7th grade. This phase consists of week-long day sessions with one overnight camping trip. Activities include games team-building initiatives and various outdoor experiences.

Program Schedule

*All of the below dates are mandatory for employment. Unfortunately we are not able to be flexible with this as we have limited summer availability to provide this program and need a full commitment from applicants to be considered for this position.

Staff Training Weeks

June 15-18 2026

Phase I: Day-Based Programming (5th 7th Grade)

Week 1- June 29th - July 3rd
Week 2- July 6th - July 10th
Week 3- July 13th - July 17th
Week 4- July 20th - July 24th
Week 5-July 27th - July 31st
Week 6- August 3rd - August 7th
Week 7- August 10th - August14th
Week 8- August 17th - August 21st

Responsibilities:

Ensure program safety and quality.
Work with JHLP Team to facilitate daily programming team-building exercises and outdoor adventures.
Support risk management and decision-making in dynamic outdoor environments
Foster a positive staff culture of transparent and constructive feedback.
Provide feedback and engage in debriefing weekly JHLP Sessions
Supervise and engage with participants during all activities
Help set up and break down activities camp and meals

Requirements

Qualifications:

At least 21 years of age
CPR/First-Aid certified (Wilderness First Responder or WFA preferred)
Prior experience working with youth (preferred)
Enthusiastic about outdoor education and team-building
