Job Summary
EMCOR Government Services has an immediate need for a Stationary Engineer/Shift Lead in Washington DC. This position shall be responsible for safe and proper operations of the Contractors workforce for each shift. Responsible for leading all classifications in a professional safe and efficient manner. Must conduct daily tours and inspections on premises not limited to MER locations CDC boiler plant etc. This role will have supervisory oversight of all classifications except for the General Clerks. The employee will be required to possess and maintain requirements directly associated with D.C 3rd or MD 1st class Engineer license. Candidate must also be able to obtain L clearance. This role will report directly to the Chief of Operations. This position is covered by the CBA for Local 99.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Operation replacement repair and maintenance of all related mechanical electrical control systems air handling units pumps motors heat exchangers and expansion joints.
Conducts building tours in direct correlation in MER CDC and boiler plant locations.
Completes necessary shift log paperwork documents findings on tour sheets and compose email to chief of operations in emergency situations.
Uploads reports and data information onto O drive per clients request.
Distribute PMs Service orders and service request among trade.
Maintain pertinent documents and utilize Maximo for record keeping.
Routine operation and inspection of emergency generator UPS and associated components.
Create requisition necessary for materials to complete required repairs.
Routine and preventive maintenance duties including filter changes belts lubrication control and performance check of building systems and equipment.
Inspect mechanical electrical systems trace electrical circuits operate switchgear record inspections and write reports to supervisors.
Perform any additional duties on an as required basis where such duties are within the scope of contractual obligations.
Supervise employees on designated shifts.
Review employee timesheets to ensure staff accuracy during shift.
Ensure technicians complete work requirements during designated shifts.
Qualifications
Minimum of five (5) years experience in the operation of central building equipment HVAC mechanical plumbing electrical and/or electronic systems.
Experience & proven ability to repair building electrical plumbing & HVAC auxiliary systems.
Must have a DC 3rdclass engineers license or a Maryland 1stClass Engineers license.
Experience & proven ability to safely secure hydronic and electrical systems for maintenance.
Experience & proven ability to Braze/Solder copper pie thread black pipe. Basic carpentry skills.
Strong knowledge of building auxiliary systems i.e. fire-life safety standby emergency generators UPS Systems.
Familiarity with general building systems i.e. vertical lift equipment overhead doors. Ability to write execute written and oral instructions and perform arithmetic calculations. Strong knowledge of safe work practices and procedures typical for maintenance operations.
Must be capable of attaining an L security clearance
Ability to safely wear a respirator climb ladders enter confined spaces lift heavy objects and perform other physically demanding tasks Safely and skillfully use all types of related hand and power tools.
Physical Demands
In an 8-hour day must be able to continually bend squat kneel lift twist climb reach stand and walk; to use hands for repetitive pushing pulling and single grasp motion; and to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds and to move objects in excess of 100 pounds and travel by government or company vehicle to work location or to other destinations as required.
