Job Summary

Visiting Professor in German Studies

The Department of German Studies is seeking a Visiting Professor in German Studies beginning September 1 2026. The successful candidate will teach intermediate and advanced German language classes as well as first-year seminars in English. The department is committed to cultivating a curriculum that reflects the diversity of contemporary German society and is inclusive and welcoming to all students. This is a one-year position. The teaching load is 3-2.

Minimum qualifications:Ph.D. in German Studies or related field in hand by the time of appointment to be hired as a Visiting Assistant Professor; a successful candidate may be hired as anInstructorif the candidate does not have a Ph.D. in hand at the time of appointment.

Work Location:In-person on the campus of Wesleyan University
