Job Description
The Marketing Manager drives growth for the Communication Leadership masters program through strategic marketing and content creation with a focus on attracting new international student populations while also managing domestic outreach. As with many other professional masters programs the student population is predominantly international with students from around the world. Currently no marketing agency serving programs at UW has a system to target international outreach and only domestic campaigns are deployed. To create a cohesive and globally relevant marketing strategy an expert is needed to build and implement a strategic plan for the programs marketing outreach and assess how to deploy resources and partnerships. This role advances the units mission by building the programs brand identity producing engaging content across media channels and executing
targeted recruitment campaigns that position Communication Leadership as a globally recognized graduate program. Reporting to the Associate Director and the Director this position bridges marketing strategy with operational execution ensuring cohesive messaging and effective outreach to prospective students worldwide.
Managing and building marketing strategy and content creation for the Communication Leadership masters program to reach prospective students especially internationally overseeing production of content for the programs media channels and working on creating brand identity. Responsibilities include overseeing budget allocation content messaging supervising student employees overseeing and managing work of partner marketing agencies developing market research on target regions managing digital campaigns across platforms and languages developing partnerships with international education agents representing the program at recruitment events analyzing performance metrics serving as liaison with external agencies and collaborating with admissions and academic departments. Reporting to the Associate Director and the Director.
Creating and managing campaigns for the Masters program broadening the reach of our program and the University by creating global brand awareness reaching new global markets and enhancing strategy for existing markets that are currently strong feeders to our program as well as new markets. Maintaining the growth of international student recruitment and reach for the program. Additionally diversifying the marketing of the Comm Lead program and increasing reach in order to ensure the sustainability of the program at its current size and maintain a connection to global prospective student populations. The role also manages marketing strategy for new initiatives aimed to expand the reach of the program such as online courses and summer programming furthering the public and international reach and brand awareness of the university.
Duties & Responsibilities
Manages designs and deploys global marketing strategy and content for the Communication Leadership program and special events with emphasis on prospective students and building international recruitment outreach and marketing strategy.
Oversees the allocation of marketing budget messaging of marketing content supervising student employees creating content identifying international recruitment opportunities and multicultural marketing strategies conducting market research on target international regions and demographic trends coordinating with admissions teams to align recruitment campaigns with enrollment goals and manages digital advertising campaigns across multiple platforms and languages.
Oversees content creation for the Communication Leadership social media channels and website.
Designs and deploys marketing strategy and content for online course and other short courses domestically and internationally.
Developing partnerships with international education agents and agencies organizing and representing the program at national professional conferences and events analyzing campaign performance metrics and ROI to optimize marketing strategies ensuring all marketing materials comply with university rules maintaining relationships with alumni networks in key international markets for referral programs and collaborating with academic departments to highlight program strengths relevant to international student interests.
Identifying and executing sponsorship and collaboration opportunities for recruitment and brand awareness including liaising with marketing agencies executing paid ad campaigns.
Lead Responsibilities:.
Manages marketing and content strategy for the program overseeing all social media and content design for program channels including YouTube newsletters websites and international channels.
Implements processes and procedures for marketing outreach for the program initiatives. Manages the allocation of program resources for marketing and advertising across national and international channels.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Student assistants for social media and marketing.
Minimum Requirements
Masters Degree in Communication or related field.
Two years in Marketing Social Media Communication or other outreach for brands.
Additional Requirements
Experience with global marketing and higher education marketing campaigns.
