Job Description
As a Security Officer - Visitor Screening in Decatur IL you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Logistics & Distribution and more. As a Screener with Allied Universal at a busy logistics and distribution location you will greet employees and visitors support access screening procedures verify credentials and monitor entry points to help reduce security-related issues. You will stay highly visible communicate clearly with site teams and document observations and incidents. What Youll Do:
- Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security-related procedures site-specific policies and/or emergency response activities at a logistics and distribution location.
- Screen employees visitors and contractors for authorized entry by checking identification credentials and access lists and directing individuals through established screening checkpoints.
- Monitor inbound and outbound activity such as vehicles trailers and packages by observing for unusual conditions verifying documentation when required and reporting concerns per post orders.
- Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm problem-solving manner including initiating notifications completing incident reports and assisting with coordination with site contacts and/or emergency services.
- Conduct regular and random patrols of the facility yard and perimeter to help to identify potential security-related issues hazards and/or policy violations and report findings to site leadership.
Minimum Requirements:
- Be 21 years of age.
- Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21 years of age for armed roles.
- Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal state and local laws.
- Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
- As a condition of employment applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
- A valid drivers license will be required for driving positions only.
