A valid First Aid/CPR card must be submitted to Classified Personnel within45 days of hire. Only courses with a hands-on component taught by a certified instructor are acceptable.
This position will remain open until a qualified applicant is selected. The earliest date a recommendation for hire may be submitted is after 03/06/26.

Salary Placement: New employees will start at the minimum hourly rate in the classification salary range. However employees who have verified prior years of service of similar occupational experience may receive experience credit towards salary step placement.

SUMMARY STATEMENT:
Under the supervision of the College Career & Technical Education Instructor the College Career & Technical Education Nursing Paraeducator will assist in the supervision of instructional activities in the Nursing classes. The Paraeducator will work closely with students in individual groups as well as in small group settings.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Assist the College Career & Technical instructor in supervising and working with students as follows:
- Communicate effectively with students and staff.
- Assist in providing one-to-one and group instruction to students so as to meet course outcomes.
- Assist in establishing and maintaining a learning environment as specified by course goals and curriculum outcomes.
- Assist in evaluating and specifying direction of instruction so as to maximize each students potential.
- Keep accurate data on student progress & maintain student files.
- Assist in administering and scoring formal and informal tests.
- Implementing behavioral management strategies using the same emphasis and techniques as outlines by the instructor.
- Assist in organizing and preparing instructional materials and nursing labs.
- Process daily laundry and clean labs.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in district-wide College Career & Technical Education meetings specific to improving instruction for students.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.

- Previous experience working with students in technical or vocational areas.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise and work with students.
- Must possess personal characteristics of flexibility initiative cooperativeness confidentiality and work ethic.
- Demonstrated ability to use basic math skills.
- Demonstrated ability or willingness to learn computer skills.
- Demonstrated ability to operate the office equipment as listed in the tools and equipment area above.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with others as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Must possess organizational skills the ability to prioritize tasks and the ability to follow through.
- Hold a current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or willingness to obtain within 45 days of employment.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently.
