Job Summary

We are working closely alongside with a local authority in West Sussex to assist with the appointment of a Bridge Inspector on a 2-months contract highly likely to be extended at clients discretion. Please apply with your CV for immediate consideration.

Rate of Pay: 17.84 - 23.53 per hour

Summary:

As a Bridge Inspector for West Sussex County Council you will work within the forward-thinking Highways Transport & Planning Service. Your role is central to delivering and supporting sustainable projects by coordinating and implementing key objectives that contribute to the development of sustainable communities across the County. You will provide flexible and efficient support to the team ensuring services are delivered to a high standard while maintaining the safety and integrity of West Sussexs infrastructure

Responsibilities:

Undertake comprehensive bridge inspections across the West Sussex County Council (WSCC) boundary
Execute a range of tasks as directed to ensure services are delivered to customers effectively and efficiently
Assist in the preparation of bridge maintenance or improvement schemes.
Maintain high standards of work while adhering to Health & Safety protocols particularly when working on or near live highways.

Qualification

A solid understanding of bridge behavior and the behavior of structural materials

Essentials:

Proven experience in having undertaken formal bridge inspections.
Familiarity with CS 450 (Inspection of Highway Structures).
Familiarity with the specific Health & Safety aspects of working on or by live highways.
Proficiency in using mobile technology (iPads) for data collection and reporting.
Possession of a full UK driving license
